If it was a little bit closer to where I lived it would be our go-to pizza spot. Not sure about the other reviewers but I lived on LI my entire life and worked in Pizza places from the ages of 15 - 21. I feel pretty qualified to rate a slice of pizza.

This is one of my favorite pizza places in the area. They have a pretty good variety of special slices. If you like Marsala the marsala slices here are excellent.

Before I tried to start eating better we would go here just about every week for rice balls and personal pizzas. The personal pizzas can be made with any of the toppings on the menu. This is great because the pizza is made fresh for you and probably costs less than say two slices of their chicken parm pie. The rice balls are also made to order which is great because most places keep them in the display cases for over a week.

The place is always clean and the staff is very friendly.

Was visiting relatives in LI wanted try out a grandma slice.  The place looked decent and clean; however the guy at the counter seemed moody and not so friendly. The grandma slice was good. Not the best but okay. It had a decent amount of cheese and sauce but found the crust was too thin . I'm used to the slice being just a tad bit thicker.

Not impressed at all. The pizza was edible but bland  and not tasty. We won't be going back.

This is the worst pizza place that I've been to on Long Island. I feel like the cooks are making it up as they go along. I've been here 3 times and each time something was messed up. My first visit I encountered the rude woman behind the counter. I asked her about a chicken francese slice and decided to go with that. She seemed annoyed that I was standing at the counter waiting for my food. I ate my slice and then that evening my stomach was upset the entire night. I think the slice had been sitting out and the chicken spoiled or the cheese. Round 2 was about a year later. There were 2 men behind the counter who looked extremely annoyed. I went with a grandma slice which ended up being edible, but that's it. The salad slice I ordered was strange. Usually when I get a salad slice it has the salad toppings and is served on plain dough. Not here. They use a tiny amount of lettuce, red onions, tomatoes, Italian dressing, and throw it on top of pizza dough with red sauce on top. Why would ANYONE want red sauce with their salad?? Nasty. That was thrown in the trash. On my last visit here, just this past Saturday, I said this is their last shot. I'm going to order a regular slice and if it sucks I'm not coming back even if it happens to be next to my favorite nail salon! Lol. I noticed the lovely little sign in the window about charging 4% for credit card transactions. Some places have a limit like $5 or $10 but they don't have signs like that in their window that they will charge for every transaction. They must not be getting a lot of business or are hurting for money. Either way, that was a turn off. I had cash so I went inside and ordered a regular slice and a small drink. The guy behind the counter was rude and unapproachable. They actually have a jar on the counter asking for tips. So I'm gonna tip you while you want to charge me 4% for a credit card transaction? U aren't providing me with a sit down meal, and you're not a high schooler, you're not getting a tip from me, sorry! The pizza came out and I was watching some older gentleman eat an entire pasta meal behind the counter area. It didn't seem clean. The pizza came out, I took a picture of it for you, it was the worst slice I've ever had. I hate to say it but it really was. Never have I ever thrown out a regular slice of pizza without finishing it. I ate most of it hoping it would get better, but it never did! The cheese did not string when you bit into it. It was barely warmed up and tasted old, stale, and like garbage. To me it tasted like pizza you accidentally leave out too long and then try to heat it up in the oven the next morning or afternoon. It had absolutely no taste, the sauce was flavorless and it sucked from all angles. I wouldn't waste another dime here. I'm sure they will be out of business in the next few years. Yuck!

What does one really say here? La Roma, La Roma...La Average. Just average. Nothing more, nothing less. Not a bad looking place, but not amazing. Not terrible pizza, but not any that would make me walk back in for another try--and I won't. The big downfall here is the lady behind the counter. Not her personality but just terrible appearance. I assume she was the owner as she just seemed to be wearing a crappy looking tee shirt with some graphic on the front, messy hair and a just-rolled-outta-bed kinda overall look. You're serving the public and you're the one person who interacts with everyone who must order at the counter...your presentation should mean something to you. It clearly doesn't, but it should, is what I'm saying. 3-star pizza place minus a star for the fashion police point reduction of shame.
